Old Master dress-up project for class. Using elements of an existing old master, we had to create a new composition using elements of an old painting. I chose a H.R. Leyendecker painting of a football player and change it into the Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins. I added more element to replace the old parts of the old painting, for example there was a leather helmet and an ice bucket on the bottom of the painting. I replaced these old elements with a new updated helmet and a gatorade container. I changed the cloth that hangs over the player and changed it with the Virginia state flag. In addition I kept the simplistic background in the original and kept it flat and the shadows constant. I encountered many problems trying to use the brushes to make the skin and cloth textures look more painterly and bring the painting to life.
